On Saturday 16th of June 2018, the scientific seminar of the Cyprus Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (CYAOMS) was successfully held at the Amathus Beach hotel. With the title “New Innovations”, the main subjects focused around Sialadenoscopy, Implantology, Oral Pathology and Arthroscopy of the Temporomandibular Joints. The participants had the opportunity to catch up with the latest innovations, presented by distinguished speakers from abroad with a rich medical and academic background.
More specifically, Professor Ilana Kaplan MD, presented the modern methods of differential diagnosis for the treatment of oral lesions which, while they may seem benign, in fact may be malignant and vice versa. Also, Professor Oded Nahlieli D.M.D., presented the developments in the already revolutionary endoscopic surgery and in particular that of the salivary glands (also known as Sialadenoscopy) as well as the methods of closed sinus augmentation with the use of new revolutionary implants. For the above, patients from Cyprus can now receive high quality medical services and the most advanced medical technology is finally available in our country. Finally, Professor Samer Srouji D.M.D., analyzed the developments of methods for the treatment of diseases related to the temporomandibular joints.
The president and secretary of the Cyprus Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Eleftherios Kalimeras and Dr. Zoe Nikolaou respectively, stressed in their speeches the need to preserve and promote the specialty and objects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Cyprus. The importance of the work of the scientific company (CYAOMS) both locally and internationally is great, since it is affiliated with international organizations and participates in World conferences and congresses.
